Mauritius national flower Trochetia

When Mauritius gained Republic status on March 12, 1992, Trochetia Boutoniana (Boucle d'Oreille) was named the National Flower. It is indigenous to Mauritius and can only be found in a specific location. It is named after the eminent French botanist Louis Bouton.
