Yellow Village Weaver Among Tree Branches

Its bright yellow feathers, dark face, and reddish eye make it stand out beautifully against the soft green leaves in the background. These birds are well known for their woven nests, often built from strips of grass and suspended from branches. Although not endemic to Mauritius, the Village Weaver has become a familiar sight in many parts of the island. Isn't it remarkable how such a small bird can bring so much colour and energy to an ordinary tree?
