A beach like no other in Mauritius, the wild beach of Rivière des Galets is one of a kind. Situated between Souillac and Bel Ombre, the beach of Rivière des Galets is easily accessible from the coastal road. You even have some parking space. The beach is ideally situated to enjoy a beautiful seascape with its large waves crashing over the shore. Some 100 meters from the beach is the small island, Ilot Sancho. The island is accessible by foot by just crossing the shallow sea. Ilot Sancho, a very small islet where you can have a pleasant walk around the entire island in just a few minutes. The sea at Rivière des Galets is not suitable for swimming but however the sound of the sea while it goes back and forth through the pebbles is quite appeasing. No other beaches in Mauritius have the particularity to be completely covered with pebbles.
