Telfair's garden is really an exceptional sight and is ideally located across the street from the Souillac Bus station, on the way to the Robert Edward Hart Museum and the Gris Gris. More like a small municipal park than a real garden, this place was named after Charles Telfair, secretary to the English governor, sugar baron and superintendent of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam's botanical gardens. You'll get a good view of Telfair Bay at Cemetery Point, where Hart is buried. A concrete slab informs you that swimming is dangerous because of the dangerous currents that break off the rocks at the foot of the park.
