Cascade Mamzelle Near Souillac

This photo shows Cascade Mamzelle, a small waterfall in the wild south of Mauritius, close to Souillac and not far from the Gris Gris coastal area. It is a lesser-known waterfall compared with places such as Rochester Falls or Chamarel Waterfall, and is usually visited as part of a southern nature route rather than as a major standalone attraction. Cascade Mamzelle is known for its compact rocky drop, forest setting, natural stream, and quieter atmosphere. The water falls over a dark rock wall into a shallow rocky riverbed, with large boulders and dense vegetation around the basin. Some sources place Cascade Mamzelle in the Savanne District, near Souillac, Surinam and Rivière des Anguilles, which makes it part of the same broader southern landscape as Gris Gris, La Roche qui Pleure and Rochester Falls.
