Small newly-born red-whiskered Bulbuls in their nest. When a baby bulbul hatches, it is absolutely naked, has closed eyelids, and is entirely reliant on its parents for warmth, nourishment, and care. By the end of the first week, the chicks' eyes are open. The initial pin feathers appear at the same moment. The second week of a chick's existence sees the quick eruption of pin feathers, and by the end of that week, the chick has a decent covering of feathers.
