Rhino feeding in the nature in Mauritius. They can de found and approached easily at Casela Nature Parks. The rhinoceros (or rhini) is the largest land mammal after the elephant. There are still five species of rhinoceros. Two of them are found in Africa: the white rhino and the black rhino. And three live in Asia: the Indian one-horned rhino, the Sunda rhino and the Sumatran rhino. The Asian one-horned rhino and the African white rhino are the largest of the five species. Thus, a white rhinoceros can reach 2 m in height for 4 m in length and 2 300 kg. On the other hand, the Sumatran rhinoceros, which is the smallest, reaches a maximum height of 1.45 m, for 2.5 m in length and about 800 kg.
