Sunrays illuminating the sugarcane field in front of Deux Mamelles mountain during a beautiful fiery sunset in the North of the Island. If the Trois mamelles resemble all the peaks of Mauritius with its first slopes covered with vegetation and the rocky and difficult to access summit, the Deux Mamelles, with its more subjective shape has deserved its name. The two peaks that dominate the sugar cane fields can be climbed but are of very different difficulties. The one on the right has an unmaintained trail that is accessible to many, while the one on the left is reserved for those who are used to trails that are more difficult to follow. There is no path linking the two summits which means that you have to go back down in the canes before climbing the other side to get to the top of the mamma. In both cases, the ascent, which is still similar to hiking, is very sportive, especially the last few hundred meters. There too, as for all the peaks of the island, the panoramas cannot be described but must be earned.
